INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE
ST MICHAEL'S CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL
2nd - 3rd DECEMBER 2017
An invitation to charities, community groups and local businesses to participate in our Christmas Tree Festival, to be held in St Michael's Church, Colebrook Way, on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd December.
You are invited to make or decorate a Christmas Tree in whatever size, style or medium you like. You may wish to decorate a traditional tree or you may wish to make your own non standard Christmas Tree out of more unsual materials. The choice is yours. We hope this will prove to be an unusual and creative opportunity to inform people about the work that you do. There is no need for the content to be religious in any way, in fact we expect your tree to reflect the aims and ethos of your group. We will also allow a small amount of promotional material to be placed with your tree should you wish to put leaflets out for the public to take.
The tree would need to be delivered to the church for placement on Friday 1st December . Detailed arrangements for this will be agreed nearer the time.
We shall advertise and steward the event and we hope that it will draw a lot of visitors. We will also produce a programme which will include all participants and any title you give to your tree. Refreshments and some craft stalls will be in the church hall making it more of an event to attract visitors and we are inviting the Mayor to open the Festival. There is no charge to participate but please note that we are not providing the trees. This is your responsibility.
The closing date for entries is 16th November.
For inspiration, I have included some images of non standard trees to inspire you in this letter and attach a booking form
for your use. We hope that you will consider participating in this new community event.
